Lesson Three

LESSON DESCRIPTION

In the final lesson of this module we will be combining all the work your group has completed thus far to create a short iMovie documentary about your chosen historical figure.

LESSON INSTRUCTIONS

The objective of this lesson is to use the photos and information you have collected during the past two lessons to create a short iMovie documentary detailing the life and achievements of your chosen historical figure.

Each group should use one student laptop to create the iMovie. You will be allowed to use your mobile phones to film scenes for your iMovies if you choose to do so. Each group will also be able to use the green-screen in the library to help with filming. This website explains how to use a green screen in iMovie (https://support.apple.com/kb/PH22929?locale=en_US)

Each group will need work efficiently as a team to complete the task in the allocated time. Groups should divide the task up amongst the members to make best use of the time. If not finished this will become homework and MUST be completed before next lesson as we will be viewing them in class.

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS

You should base the structure of your iMovie on the research that you completed in Lesson Two. The iMovie should cover the following:

  1. Rome during their lifetime
  2. Brief overview of their career
  3. Three key achievements
  4. Historical significance of this figure

The iMovie should primarily feature relevant photos from the excursion but can also use images from the other sources (e.g. books and the internet) as long as they are properly cited in your groups bibliography which should appear at the end of your documentary.

The iMovie minimum length is 1.5 (One and a half) minutes

Reminder, this iMovie documentary will make up 30% of your mark for the Ancient Rome topic.
