LESSON INSTRUCTIONS
In this second less you will again be working in your class groups to research a historical figure from Ancient Rome from the list below and construct a plan for a short iMovie documentary that you will be creating in the following lesson.
Historical figures:
- Julius Caesar
- Augustus Caesar
- Mark Anthony
- Spartacus
- Pliny the Elder
- Romulus
- Aurelian
- Boudica
- Cleopatra
- Trajan
If your group would like to research another person, ask Mr Arrowsmith for approval before you begin.
During the research of your historical figure you should focus on these key areas:
- Rome during their lifetime
- Early life and death
- Career
- Three key achievements
- Historical Significance of this
All information should be written in your groups Google Drive document so that everyone in the group has access to the information.
Make sure that your fully plans out your iMovie documentary and upload your progress to your groups Google Drive.
To research your figure you should make use of the available resources that we have at school such as the books in the library and the educational databases that you have access to through your school account. Ask Mr Arrowsmith or one of the librarians if you need a refresher course in this. (HINT, Use the same process as you used in Year 7 during your research task)
To assist your group in researching these historical figures you will use the augmented reality Merge Cubes and the application 3D Museum Viewer. Merge Cubes are an incredibly useful tool that create a 3D model which will appear on your phone that you can interact with as though it was real. Take some time to explore the possibilities of this technology as they contain a wealth of information.
